Verdazo Analytics and geoLOGIC Systems explore N2 energized completions in CSUR talk

Verdazo Analytics’ President Bertrand Groulx and geoLOGIC Systems’ Joshua Lee will deliver a presentation for the Canadian Society for Unconventional Resources (CSUR) on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. The presentation is titled “Effectiveness of Nitrogen Energized Completions in the Alberta Montney”. Groulx and Lee’s presentation is part of a single-day CSUR event called “The Alberta Montney Resource: An Important Play for Alberta”. Additional sessions will outline a macro-analysis of the play, its associated challenges and commentary from both researchers and operators. We’re pleased to announce the spring 2017 release of our VERDAZO software. This release streamlines workflows for better usability and updates configurations based on input from our network of clients, industry experts and professionals. The release also adds sophistication to VERDAZO’s analysis capabilities, including those highlighted in our recent Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) multivariate analysis paper. Bertrand Groulx nominated as SPE Distinguished Lecturer

Verdazo Analytics’ President Bertrand Groulx has been nominated to be a Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Lecturer. Nominees are selected by their peers and cited for their industry expertise and leadership, and facility in front of an audience. SPE Distinguished Lecturers typically embark on speaking tours, delivering presentations to global audiences on topics of critical importance to the energy industry. Groulx has regularly presented to SPE audiences in the past. Many of his presentations can be found here. The SPE Distinguished Lecturer Program was created in 1961 and features speakers from around the world. Both will be focused on data analytics. Groulx’s presentation is titled “Multivariate Analysis Using Advanced Probabilistic Techniques for Completion Design Optimization”. This session takes place at 9:00 a.m. and is suitable for those with limited exposure to the data analytics space as well as more sophisticated practitioners. Groulx co-wrote SPE Paper 185077 with and Jim Gouveia of Rose & Associates and Don Chenery, also of Verdazo Analytics. At 10:30 the same day, Groulx will be a featured panelist discussing “Data Analytics and Cognitive Computing – Changing the Way We Work”. A key focus of the panel will be the ability of data analytics and cognitive computing to increase efficiencies in upstream oil and gas operations. Groulx will be joined on the panel by speakers from SAS, Nexen, RAMP Ventures and Woodside. Calgary AB – Nov 2, 2016 – Verdazo Analytics’ President Bertrand Groulx has won an award from the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in the category of Regional Production and Operations. SPE awards recognize members for their exceptional service and leadership to the society, as well as major professional contributions to their technical disciplines at the regional level. Groulx was cited for his contributions to advancing industry best practices, elevating industry understanding of complexities in type-well curve development and improving analytic capabilities and statistical methodologies.
